Ethan Alter is the Head of Growth at Checkr Personal, which helps people verify their identity and background: "You're real. Now you can prove it." He's still working on finding the right tagline.

Previously:
At Mode Analytics and Motorq, he learned the art and craft of product marketing, and it was good.
At Salesforce, he learned what SaaS is, and it was good.

He is the founder of Cortado Holdings, a family of businesses and media properties that do not sell coffee: Cortado Consulting, Cortado Collections, Cortado Media, and he writes The Cortado, an occasional newsletter.

His interests include behavioral economics, tennis, basketball, writing, and building an AI mentor named Clancey. Ethan studied economic history and consumer psychology at the University of Pennsylvania and earned his MBA from MIT Sloan, a combination of credentials he hopes will one day let him teach at a business school without having to get a PhD.

He lives in San Francisco with his wife.
